Training/Seminars

Our seminars are inexpensive and informative, designed to provide solid information -- not just an appetizer, but the full meal. Our Association succeeds by helping our members succeed.

Most seminars are three hours in length, and costs begin at $35 for members. Non-members pay slightly more.

Our instructor is Mel Withrow, a long time member and supporter of this organization. He has been a real estate investor for 30 years and is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Real Estate Broker. He currently manages his own residential rental units.

Since Mel started investing in real estate he has owned single family, 2-4 units and large apartment buildings. During the years managing and maintaining these investments he has learned many money saving ways to maintain property to save money and still keep your investment in top condition. His presentation will include practical ways to handle problems with tenants, to retain tenants, to keep your units full and get top rents. We are fortunate to have someone with this vast experience to share his expertise and experience.

Sal Catanese, Home Inspector and state licensed instructor, will present things to look for at home inspections to save you money. He will also talk about the special problems when inspecting foreclosed properties.

Burt Hurley, owner of Country Company Insurance will present some of the insurance issues for rental properties that you may not have been aware of.

He is currently a licensed real estate broker, is the Treasurer of the Deer Creek Homeowners Association, and is President of the LCPIA. Mark is an agent for Koenig & Strey GMAC Real Estate and Co-owner of "Maintenance Free Property Management, LLC," a property management company that primarily serves owners of individual units.
